The present invention is directed to emulsifiable caffeine carboxylate concentrates comprising a supersaturated caffeine system in a fatty acid or mixture of fatty acids, a surfactant or mixture of surfactants and, optionally, phyllosilicate particles. Furthermore, the invention is also directed to emulsions based on emulsifiable concentrates and water, characterized in that they have a caffeine content between 700 ppm and 14,000 ppm, fatty acids between 2 percent and 15 percent, surfactant or surfactant mixture between 0.1 percent and 3 percent and, optionally, phyllosilicate particles between 0.01 percent and 5 percent. The formulations of the invention have biocidal properties for the control of pests in crops and pastures of coffee, cocoa, vegetables, flowers, tubers, sugar cane, palm trees, cereals, legumes, fruit trees, bananas and plantains.
