The Coffee Chamusquina bug, Monalonion velezangeli, is a pest affecting coffee crops in south Colombia, from which native Reduviidae predators have been reported. This is the first report of Castolus lineatus Maldonado inhabiting coffee crops in Huila. In order to facilitate the morphological identification of this species, we illustrate and describe its biological stages. For this, nymphs were collected in La Plata – Huila, and fed with Galleria mellonella until reaching adults stages under laboratory conditions, then egg masses were obtained where new nymphs emerged. The morphology of the adults was corroborated and for the first time the egg and the five nymphal stages are illustrated and described. Eggs are elongated, brown and coated with a mucilage-like substance. Nymphs are orange with dark legs, and become more intense in coloration while increasing in size. The fifth and last nymphal instar exhibited polychromatism, showing two morphotypes: orange and red.
